I use Google Alerts for a number of different subjects ranging from Hugh Wirth, RSPCA, tail docking to of course Britfeld and Svetlana Sally Johnston.
The alerts send me an email with a list of links that relate to my search word/phrase. For the better part it works well with only a few URLs that are totally off topic.
A few days ago I received my alert for BRITFELD.
I clicked the link to be taken to Chic.tv web site forum where there is a user name BRITFELD.
Now I know it is not me and so out of concern how my Trademark would be used in terms of the posts which may appear, I wrote Chic.tv asking the user be removed out of respect for my Trademark.
I thought it was reasonable.
The user could choose another user name and given this user has not posted a single post, no loss to any one.
I received this reply:
" This is one of our users name as it appears on his/her email account. I suggest you go after bigger problems.
No respect for my trademark, in fact belittling my concerns to be nothing of significance by telling me to "go after bigger problems".
The use of my trademark is a BIG PROBLEM.
Chic.tv has conducted themselves very unprofessionally on this matter which saddens me not just because on this occasion it effects me directly but how many other people have had no respect shown to them regarding their respective trademarks.
Short of taking legal action, there is not much more I can do except write about it and spread the word on the very unprofessional conduct from this organisation.
Down with CHIC.TV !
P.S. I wonder how chic.tv would feel if I started using their Trademark ? ? ?
